General

What does Lilly Tracker do?

Lilly Tracker is a menstrual cycle and ovulation tracking app for Android. It logs periods, predicts future cycles, identifies fertile windows (5 days before ovulation plus 1 day after), tracks basal body temperature with charts, records 30+ symptoms and 40+ moods, supports birth control tracking for pill/patch/ring with customizable reminders, provides PIN-protected privacy, offers free encrypted cloud backup and sync across devices, enables PDF export of full cycle history for doctors, and includes the Girl Talk community forum.

Is Lilly Tracker free?

Yes, Lilly Tracker is completely free to download and use. The app contains ads to support development. A one-time in-app purchase permanently removes all ads across every part of the app.

What Android version do I need for Lilly Tracker?

Lilly Tracker requires Android 6.0 (API 23) or higher. The app is fully compatible with Android 15 (API 35) and handles all modern permission requirements including notification permissions (Android 13+), exact alarm scheduling (Android 14+), and modern storage rules. The app works on phones and tablets.

Does the app work on tablets?

Yes. Lilly Tracker adjusts to tablets and larger screens automatically. The calendar, charts, and card layout expand to use the extra space. Install it from Google Play on any Android device running Android 6.0 or later.

Can I use the app without creating an account?

Yes. All core features — period tracking, ovulation prediction, BBT logging, symptoms, moods, calendar view, and themes — work without any account. An account (email and password) is only needed for cloud backup and the Girl Talk community forum.

What languages does Lilly Tracker support?

The app follows your device's system language. Supported languages include: English, Arabic, Bengali, Chinese (Simplified, Traditional, HK), Dutch, French, German (and regional variants), Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Polish, Portuguese (BR, PT), Russian, Serbian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Vietnamese, and more. To change the language, change your device language in System Settings.

Privacy & Security

Is my health data private in Lilly Tracker?

Yes. Your data is stored securely on your device with optional PIN code protection. Cloud backups are encrypted in transit and on the server. The app does not sell, share, or give your cycle data, temperatures, symptoms, or personal notes to anyone. Anonymous crash reports contain device and app information but never personal health data. See our full privacy policy for details on data collection, encryption, and your rights.

How do I set up a PIN lock?

Go to Settings → Period Data and toggle PIN Protection ON. Enter a 4-digit PIN, then confirm it. Once enabled, the PIN screen appears every time the app is resumed from the background. There is no limit on incorrect attempts. To disable, toggle PIN Protection OFF and enter the current PIN. To change PIN, tap the PIN Protection row. Warning: there is no PIN recovery option. If you forget your PIN, you must uninstall and reinstall, which erases all local data. Cloud backup can restore data if enabled.

I forgot my PIN. How do I reset it?

There is no PIN recovery option. If you forget your PIN, the only way to regain access is to uninstall and reinstall the app. This erases all local data on your device. If you have cloud backup enabled, log in after reinstalling and sync to restore your data. Without backup, all data is permanently lost.

Does Lilly Tracker use my location?

No. The app does not request GPS location or track where you are. The only location-related check is for EU ad consent — the app reads your SIM card's country code to determine if European privacy laws apply. This is not GPS tracking and does not require location permission. If you ever see a location permission request from the app (usually triggered by an ad network), you can safely deny it — everything continues to work.

Period & Ovulation Tracking

How does period prediction work in Lilly Tracker?

Lilly calculates your next period date based on your logged cycle history. By default it uses the cycle length you set during setup. When "Use Average Values" is enabled in Settings, the app automatically analyzes all your completed cycles to calculate your personal average cycle length, period length, and luteal phase length. These averages update after each completed cycle. The more cycles you log, the more accurate predictions become. For users with irregular cycles including PCOS, the app adapts to actual logged data.

Does Lilly Tracker work for irregular cycles?

Yes. Lilly adapts to your actual logged cycles. Enable "Use Average Values" in Settings → Period & Ovulation so the app learns from your data over time. The app analyzes all your completed cycles and calculates personal averages for cycle length, period length, and luteal phase length. Predictions improve with each logged cycle. For cycles that vary by 10+ days, predictions are estimates rather than precise dates.

How do I correct a period date I entered wrong?

Tap the gear icon on the Period Card and select "Cycle Data." From there you can edit the period start date, period end date, ovulation date, and cycle length for the current cycle. To delete an individual past cycle, open Cycle Stream (timeline icon on Home), find the cycle, and tap the 'X' button to remove it permanently.

How do I log basal body temperature?

On the Temperature Card, tap the temperature label (showing "__._" or "Set °c") to enter today's temperature. You can also tap any of the previous 4 days' labels. Enter a value between 33.0°C and 42.0°C (91.0°F to 107.6°F) and tap "Set." The app auto-detects Celsius vs Fahrenheit based on the value you enter. The mini line chart shows a 5-day trend. Tap the chart area for a full line chart of all temperatures, or the bar chart icon for a bar chart view.

The app says 'Period late' but I'm not late. What happened?

Check your logged cycle parameters in Settings. If your actual cycle is longer than the set average, the prediction will be off. Either adjust the cycle length manually or enable "Use Average Values" so the app learns from your actual logged cycles. If you are pregnant, the app cannot detect pregnancy — it continues predictions based on your cycle settings.

Does the app support Fahrenheit for temperature?

Yes. The app auto-detects whether you are entering Celsius or Fahrenheit based on the value range. Values between 33 and 42 are treated as Celsius, values between 91 and 106 are treated as Fahrenheit. There is no unit toggle setting — the app automatically determines the unit from the number you enter. Charts and history display the value as you entered it without converting between units.

How do I set ovulation manually?

On the Ovulation Card, tap the gear icon and select "Set ovulation manually." Choose a date from the calendar picker. This overrides the calculated ovulation date for the current cycle. To revert to automatic calculation, tap the gear icon again and select "Calculate ovulation day" (this option is only enabled when ovulation has been manually set).

What does the fertile window percentage mean?

The percentage represents where you are within the 6-day fertile window (5 days before ovulation plus ovulation day itself). Day 1 of the fertile window shows 10%, and ovulation day shows 100%. This is an estimate based on your cycle parameters, not a guarantee of fertility.

Can I log data for past days?

Yes. To log symptoms, moods, intercourse, or notes for past days: open the Calendar tab, tap on a past date, and the Cycle Data editor opens for that date. Temperature can be logged for the current day and up to 4 previous days directly from the Temperature Card.

Birth Control

Can I use Lilly Tracker for birth control?

No. Lilly Tracker's period and ovulation predictions should not be used as a form of birth control or contraception. The app is a tracking and prediction tool, not a medical device. However, the app does include a separate Birth Control card that provides pill, patch, and ring reminder tracking with customizable schedules and notifications.

What birth control methods does Lilly Tracker support?

Lilly supports three contraceptive methods: pill, patch, and ring. For pills, active days are configurable from 20 to 84 with 0 to 8 break days (default 21/7), with optional placebo pill reminders. For patches, the cycle is fixed at 21 active / 7 break. For rings, you can choose 21 active / 7 break or 28 active / 0 break. Each method has its own reminder time, snooze interval (5 to 120 minutes), custom title and subtitle, icon selection from 16 choices, and ringtone picker.

How do I stop birth control tracking?

Tap the gear icon on the Birth Control card and select "Stop tracking." Confirm in the dialog. This deactivates all birth control reminders. Any already-scheduled reminders for the current day may fire one last time but will clear at midnight. If a reminder persists for more than a day after stopping, restart your phone to cancel any leftover alarms.

Can I use birth control tracking without period tracking?

Yes. The Birth Control card is independent from period tracking. You can enable and configure pill, patch, or ring tracking even if you haven't set up your cycle data. However, period tracking gives you the full app experience with cycle phase awareness and integrated predictions.

Data & Backup

How do I back up my cycle data?

Open the side menu (three bars icon) and tap "Backup," or go to Settings → Period Data → Backup. First-time users sign up with email and password after accepting privacy terms. Returning users log in. Once enabled, data syncs automatically in the background. You can also tap "Synchronize Now" for an immediate manual sync. The side menu shows a green checkmark when backup is active. To restore on a new device, log in with the same credentials and sync.

Can I export my cycle data for my doctor?

FormatHowWhat's included
PDFCycle Stream → Share → PDFAll cycles with dates, lengths, ovulation
Share textCycle Stream → Share iconSummary of current cycle data

Can I sync data between two phones?

Yes. Enable Cloud Backup on both devices using the same email and password. Tap "Synchronize Now" on each device to force an immediate sync. Your full cycle history, symptoms, temperatures, moods, notes, and birth control data restores on the new device. Do not delete your backup account on the old phone until you have confirmed data is restored on the new device.

How do I delete my data?

There are two separate deletion options. "Delete All Data" in Settings → Period Data erases all local cycle data and returns the app to the initial setup wizard — cloud backup is not affected. "Delete Backup Account" in Settings → Period Data permanently erases all cloud data — local device data remains. You can do one, the other, or both. Warning: deleting the backup account cannot be undone. If you only want to remove individual cycles, use Cycle Stream and tap the 'X' button on the cycle you want to remove.

How do I transfer data to a new phone?

On your old phone: open side menu → Backup → tap "Synchronize Now" to ensure all data is saved to the cloud. On your new phone: install the app, go through initial setup, open side menu → Backup → Login with the same email and password, tap "Synchronize Now." Your full history restores. Do not delete the backup account on your old phone until data is confirmed on the new device.

What happens if I uninstall the app?

If you have Cloud Backup enabled, your data is safe on the server. Reinstall the app, log in with the same email and password, and sync to restore everything. Without cloud backup, uninstalling deletes all local data permanently. There is no way to recover it.

What does the green/yellow icon in the side menu mean?

Green checkmark means cloud backup is active and authenticated. Yellow warning means backup is not set up — tap it to configure. You should enable backup to protect your cycle data in case you lose or change your phone.

How many cycles does the app remember?

There is no limit. All your cycles are saved on your phone and, if cloud backup is enabled, also on the server. The app stores every period start, period end, symptom log, temperature reading, mood entry, and note you have ever entered.

What is the difference between 'Delete All Data' and 'Delete Backup Account'?

What you doWhat happens to your phoneWhat happens to the cloud
Delete All Data (Settings → Period Data)Everything is wiped — app goes back to setup wizardNothing — cloud backup is still safe
Delete Backup Account (Settings → Period Data)Your data stays on your phoneCloud data is permanently deleted

You can do one, the other, or both. They are separate actions. If you delete both, all your cycle data is permanently lost.

Troubleshooting & Settings

How do I remove ads?

Tap "Remove Ads" in the side menu. This is a one-time purchase processed through Google Play. After purchase, all ads in every part of the app are permanently removed including banner ads, native ads, and exit ads. If ads still appear after purchase, restart the app or check that your Google Play purchase was completed successfully.

Why didn't I receive a notification?

First, check that notifications are enabled for the specific event in Settings → Notification Settings and that the bell icon on the card is not muted. On Android 13+, you must grant notification permission when the app asks — if denied, go to Settings → Apps → Lilly Tracker → Notifications → Allow. Your phone's battery saver may be stopping the app from waking up. Go to Settings → Apps → Lilly Tracker → Battery → choose "Unrestricted" or "Don't optimize." Samsung, Huawei, and Xiaomi phones are especially strict about background apps — add Lilly Tracker to your phone's "protected apps" or "auto-start" list in system settings.

How do I change the theme?

Tap the palette/theme icon on the Home tab (below the cards section). Select from 9 themes:

ThemeVibe
Bird (default)Soft pink, warm
RedBold
TealCool, clinical
BluePlayful
IndigoCorporate
BlackDark mode
OrangeHigh contrast
YellowBright, sunny

How do I change the first day of the week on the calendar?

Go to Settings → Period Data → First day of week. Choose from: locale default (follows your device region), Saturday, Sunday, or Monday.

Why does the app need internet access?

Internet is used for: cloud backup (saving and restoring your data), ads (loading advertisements in the free version), the Girl Talk community forum (displaying the discussion board), in-app purchases (processing through Google Play), checking for app updates (notifying when a new version is available), and crash reporting (sending anonymous technical data to help fix bugs). No personal health data is transmitted for ads, updates, or crash reports.

My cycle is longer than 55 days or shorter than 10 days. Can I still use the app?

The settings allow cycle lengths between 10 and 55 days. If your cycles fall outside this range, set the closest available value. The app learns from your actual logged periods over time, especially with "Use Average Values" enabled, so predictions will adapt. Keep logging your periods correctly — the app gets more accurate with each cycle you record.

The app crashed. What information was sent?

When the app crashes, it automatically sends an anonymous crash report to the developer. The report includes your device model, Android version, and what the app was doing when it crashed. It does not include any personal health data, period dates, temperatures, symptoms, or notes. These reports help the developer find and fix bugs in future updates.

Offline & Connectivity

Does Lilly Tracker work offline?

Yes. Period tracking, temperature logging, symptoms, and all local features work fully offline without an internet connection. Internet is only required for cloud backup and sync, the Girl Talk community forum, loading ads, processing in-app purchases, and checking for app updates.
