Lilly Tracker is used by millions of women for daily cycle tracking. But many don't realize how powerful the app becomes when you layer in all its features for fertility tracking. This guide walks through the advanced techniques that can help you understand your cycle deeply.
Start by making sure all fertility-relevant cards are visible on your Home screen. Tap "More…" at the bottom of the Home tab and enable:
If the Birth Control Card is enabled, you can disable it during fertility tracking to keep the screen focused.
BBT is one of the most reliable indicators of ovulation. Your temperature dips slightly just before ovulation and rises sharply afterward, remaining elevated through the luteal phase.
The Temperature Card shows a 5-day mini line chart. Tap it to open the full line chart view where you can see your entire cycle's temperature curve. The temperature rise of 0.2–0.5°C (0.4–1.0°F) confirms ovulation occurred.
The Symptoms Card is your second most powerful fertility tool. Log these signs daily:
| Symptom | What It Indicates | When to Look For It |
|---|---|---|
| Cervical mucus (symptom) | Fertile window approaching | 5–7 days before ovulation |
| Ovulation pain / cramps | Ovulation may be happening | Day of ovulation |
| Tender breasts | Progesterone rising after ovulation | After ovulation, luteal phase |
| Bloating | Hormonal shift | Around ovulation |
| Increased libido | Natural fertile window signal | Days before ovulation |
Tap "More…" on the Symptoms Card and navigate through all three tabs. Use Tab 1 (Checkboxes) for physical symptoms, Tab 3 (Moods) for emotional patterns, and log flow intensity when menstruating.
From the Symptoms Card, the Intercourse button lets you quick-log protected or unprotected intercourse. Over several cycles, this data helps you and your healthcare provider understand timing relative to your fertile window. Tap the button and select Protected or Unprotected — the log appears on your calendar.
The Ovulation Card shows your predicted ovulation date based on your cycle settings. As you enter more cycles, enable "Use Average Values" in Settings → Period & Ovulation so the app learns your personal cycle length, period length, and luteal phase length.
The fertile window is displayed as a date range. The fertility percentage rises from 10% on the first fertile day to 100% on ovulation day. During fertile days, the card displays green text. You can manually override the predicted ovulation date by tapping the gear icon and selecting "Set ovulation manually" — useful if you detected ovulation through BBT or ovulation test kits.
Lilly Tracker lets you log ovulation test (LH surge) results directly in the app:
Over time, correlating your LH surge with your BBT shift and the app's prediction helps you understand your personal ovulation pattern. Many users find that logging all three — BBT, symptoms, and test results — gives them the clearest picture.
Open Cycle Stream (the timeline icon below the cards) to see all your cycles in chronological order. Each entry shows period start, period end, cycle length, period length, and ovulation date. The year view groups cycles by year with statistical summaries.
Look for patterns across cycles:
If you notice your luteal phase is shorter than 10 days (luteal phase defect), discuss this with your healthcare provider as it can affect fertility. You can export your full cycle data as a PDF from Cycle Stream to share with your doctor.
Enable Fertility and Ovulation notifications in Settings → Notification Settings. Set them to fire a few days before the fertile window starts. You can customize the notification text — for privacy, use something discreet like "Check symptoms" instead of "Fertile window starts."
Fertility tracking data is months or years in the making. Enable Cloud Backup from the side menu to ensure your history is never lost. If you upgrade phones, log in with the same email and tap "Synchronize Now" — all cycles, temperatures, symptoms, and test results restore automatically.
Lilly Tracker is a tracking tool, not a medical device. If you have been tracking for 6–12 months without conceiving, or if your cycles are consistently irregular, consult a fertility specialist. The PDF export from Cycle Stream gives your doctor a clear, formatted record of your cycle history.
